Booby Streamer
This was designed in 2 versions… a popper version with Marc Petitjean’s magic popper head which was posted earlier and this is a more versatile version which can be fish with floating, sink tip and sinking lines.
You can either present it like an injured baitfish with floating line, strip and let it stop… or if you are fishing with sink tip or sinking line… you can adjust the dept with the length of your leader.

Picture step by step tying tutorial :

Prepare thread base … here I’m using a #1 hook.. you can tie with smaller hook size

Cut about 1.25cm ( half of the tube foam ) of the 9mm Booby Tube foam, make a hole a the middle

Put in the foam just right after the bent, tie it down.. drop a small drop of superglue if you wish

Tie in the streamer saddle ( I normally keep it 2x of the hook shank )

Tie in some UV shiner, them wind in about 3 wind of pearl Palmer chenille

Mix the predator fiver with some extra fine UV dubbing..Tie in your prefer colour of Predator fibers

Fold the fiber back, tie down and wind in some Ice dubbing… comb the dubbing out

Now tie in anothe batch of fibers just after the foam

Fold the fibers back and figure 8 and secure the fiber on the foam

Tie in some Mega Lazer Dub, fold the fiber back, comb and arrange the fiber and fixed the shape with some Deer Creek Fine flex UV resin

Drop some epoxy on the foam to glue your eye… I only use epoxy to stick all my fly’s eye

Done

Always tank test your fly, if it doesn’t float… either your hook is too heavy or you are not using a high floating close cell foam.

Cheers and Happy Tying!!!
